Bangladesh host Pakistan for three T20Is and two Tests.
Bangladesh Cricket Board chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury is hoping to have fans back in the stadium, up to 50 percent of the venue's capacity, during the forthcoming series against Pakistan.
Bangladesh are scheduled to host Pakistan for a three-match T20I series in Mirpur followed by two Tests at Chattogram and Mirpur respectively.
Fans have been barred from watching an international game in Bangladesh due to the Covid-19 situation. “We are hopeful to have fifty percent fans in the ground subject to the government approval,” Chowdhury told Cricbuzz on Monday.
“The fans need to be vaccinated. As children are yet to be vaccinated, they are unlikely to be allowed to see the matches from the gallery in the Pakistan series,” he added.
BCB forms two-member fact finding committee
The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Monday formed a two-member committee, comprising board directors Enayet Husain Siraj and Jalal Yunus, to review the national team's performance in the ICC Men's T20 WC in Oman and UAE.
”The committee has been entrusted with taking the views of Bangladesh squad members (Players and Team Management) and relevant stakeholders to assess why the team could not deliver the expected performance in the event and share its findings with the board,” the BCB said in a statement.
Bangladesh failed to clinch a single victory from their five games in the Super 12 stage while they also lost to Scotland in the qualifiers. they only managed to earn a spot in the main event courtesy of their wins against Oman and PNG in the first round.
