Even that would be an understatement. If the New Zealand bowlers found them wanting in the batting department, the batters ensured the target was also short lived. The fielding also didn't look that great for the tourists. Boult did his thing with the new ball and the support was also wonderful as every bowler hit the right chord. Bangladesh ambled to 131 and the hosts took no time to chase it down. A Guptill whirlwind at the top helped. New Zealand might be without some of their top players but they are still a force at home. Bangladesh have been swatted away but they would be hurting and hoping to bounce back. That is it for the day, we will come back with more cricketing action. Cya! Tom Latham: Absolutely lovely. It was a game full of debutants and a few milestones. The bowling group has been together for a while. We were clinical. From a bowling point of view, it was very clinical. When you win, it doesn't matter how you win. We all know how dangerous Guptill can be when he bats like that. Another outstanding crowd here. Hoping for the same at Christchurch as well. Tamim Iqbal: There were too many soft dismissals. We take a lot of pride in our batting which didn't click. Hope we find out the mistakes and not repeat them next time. We had a few days of preparations. It is not new to us, we have been coming to New Zealand. We know what to expect and hoping to put up a better show. The first shot was lovely but I would have liked him (Mahedi) to continue. He bowled nicely as bowling in these conditions isn't easy. Trent Boult | Player of the Match: Obviously nice to get over the line and start the series nicely. The boys bowled nicely to keep them to a decent total and nice to chase it with only a couple of wickets down. It is nice coming down here and playing one-day cricket, nice to have a good crowd in and they can now go enjoy their Saturday evening. I have been here a couple of times in the last few weeks, nice to bowl on and we have had some good results. We will look forward to next season when we come here. There were some nice words spoken, special time when you get your first cap (for Conway, Young and Mitchell) and also for Tom (playing his 100th) and Henry (playing his 50th). I am sure it is a happy changing room. 16:16 Local Time, 03:16 GMT, 08:46 IST: It has taken 21.2 overs for the formalities to be completed. Bangladesh stood no chance after being rolled over for 131. NZ made that clear with their intent when they turned up to bat. Guptill batted as if it was a T20 game and the carnage he incurred on the opponents ensured an early finish. Henry Nicholls batted responsibly and so did Conway, who of course got out just before the target was achieved. Bangladesh bowlers hardly impressed as Guptill didn't allow any of them to settle down. Early on, the visitors were blown away by the New Zealand pacers especially Boult, who made the most of a spicy surface, and finished with 4 for 27. Hang around for the presentations.. 21.2 Hasan Mahmud to Will Young, FOUR , that's it! Will Young - the debutant - finishes it off with a pull.
