Commentary

Melbourne Renegades were the team to beat through the league phase but lost momentum towards the end and three successive losses saw them being knocked out. Adelaide Strikers are now the team with momentum and they will be up against Perth Scorchers in the final. Hopefully that is more competitive than the two knockout games. That encounter is on Saturday. Do join us for that. Until then, take care and goodbye..

Darcie Brown | Player of the Match - I just tried to pitch it up a bit, Schutt set the tone with the first ball for us, it felt good. Was good to play again after yesterday and end up on the winning note. I have been trying to use the short ball well, so isolated the bouncer and tried the variations. Haven't played out there at the Furnace (Perth Stadium), but it looks imposing when playing the WNCL. Hoping for a good show in tomorrow's match as well.

21:05 Local Time, 10:35 GMT, 16:05 IST: If yesterday was a walk in the park, today was like eating a piece of cake. Adelaide Strikers have been ruthless in the knockout games. Their mantra has been simple; win the toss, bowl first, restrict the opposition to a below par total and then chase it down comfortably. Amanda Wellington's 5-fer derailed Brisbane Heat in the Eliminator and today it was an all-round bowling and fielding effort that blew the Melbourne Renegades away. Chasing 84, Dane van Niekerk got them off to a flier and Katie Mack dropped anchor, though they lost the former on the brink of victory, the latter remained unbeaten to finish the job. The Renegades did not have enough runs on the board and their bowlers could do only this much.

10.5 Rhiann O Donnell to Katie Mack, FOUR, Adelaide Strikers are in the final. It is once again Mack hitting the winning runs, she did it yesterday and she's out there today as well. She gives herself room and slices the full delivery over the off-side, the ball had enough to race away to the fence

10.4 Rhiann O Donnell to Wolvaardt, 3 runs, shot! Fuller and around off, Wolvaardt leans into the drive and presents the full bat face, creamed through extra cover and Rodrigues hunts it down, saving one

10.3 Rhiann O Donnell to Katie Mack, 1 run, length delivery and Mack wanted to finish it in style, heaves it on the bounce to deep mid-wicket

10.2 Rhiann O Donnell to Wolvaardt, 1 run, on a length and around off, Wolvaardt angles it to short third man and crosses over

10.1 Rhiann O Donnell to Wolvaardt, FOUR, short and ample width on offer, Wolvaardt rides the bounce and cracks the cut through point, split cover-point and backward point to perfection

Rhiann O Donnell [2.0-0-5-0] is back into the attack

9.3 Carly Leeson to van Niekerk, out Caught by Kaur!! Something for the Renegades to celebrate. van Niekerk wanted to get it done with but perishes in the process. Fullish delivery and van Niekerk wanted to strike it over mid-off, instead ends up slicing to Kaur who takes a good catch moving to her left. van Niekerk c Kaur b Carly Leeson 43(30) [4s-5 6s-1]

Carly Leeson to van Niekerk, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

9.2 Carly Leeson to van Niekerk, FOUR, smashed! Slower ball that is dragged halfway down, van Niekerk waits for it by delaying the bat swing and then pumps it flat over the bowler, the ball raced away to the fence
