Cricket news - Cricket West Indies announce Drakes as assistant coach

Vasbert dragon, the former pacer, has to start, the Windies setup as one of the three Co-Trainer in front of the three-match Test rubber against England at the 23. January in Barbados.

Dragon, the Windies represented in 12 Tests and 34 ODIs, has coached in the Caribbean women's team to a T20 world Cup title in 2016. He has also played extensive experience in County Cricket for various teams, including Sussex, Warwickshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

Esuan Crandon, the bowling all-rounder, seam, Guyana, and Toby Radford, the former batsman, Middlesex, who has served as the batting coach of the Windies side mentioned, were also named as Co-coach of the interim-head-coach Richard Pybus. Crandon also led Guyana Jaguars to four first-class title.

"It is an honor to be back working with the West Indies cricket again," said Drake. "As someone who played the game at the highest level, it was always my desire to make a contribution to West Indies cricket and give back to the young players.

"We have a tremendous group of players here, full of ambition and hungry for success. Our role as coach is to share the offer of guidance and comprehensive advice and knowledge, and create an environment of learning. I want to see West Indies cricket to grow and thrive."

"I'm passionate about the game of cricket is a true supporter of the West Indies-is said in cricket, and ultimately, I would like to make a contribution to the game in the region and see the players perform at their best," Crandon. "I'm a quiet Person, and I'm here to do what is necessary so that the team is successful ...that is what I like to do to help coaching and others."

Pybus appointment as interim coach was confirmed by the CWI last week, in spite of the Leewards Islands Cricket Board on the objection to him taking on the role. LICB had claimed that Pybus was "hand-picked" by the CWI President Dave Cameron, although she is not named in the first shortlist for the above position
