Stoinis has 10 wickets and 298 runs in this first class season

Marcus Stoinis all-rounder, has been added to Australia's squad for the second Test against Sri Lanka in Canberra, starting on 1. February. Meanwhile, Matt Renshaw, the opener, was released from the team and will play for Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League.

Stoinis, who plays for Western Australia, is 10 scalps, and the cumulative 298 bags executed during the course of the 2018-19 first-class season. He is yet to debut to his Test, and has aggregated 2857 runs and mired 52 scalp, the cricket in the first class.

"We have made the decision to add Marcus to play us the flexibility of an all-rounder in the event, require the terms of an additional bowling option in the line - up," Trevor Hohns, the chief selector said.

"Marcus has been a consistent performer this season, he has shown strong cricket all-round form in the First class and continued this form into the Australian ODI series against India. We also have release Matt Renshaw from the squad decided so it can Heat for Brisbane in the upcoming BBL fixtures."

Australia took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series with a crushing innings and 40-run victory in the first Test at the Gabba.
