Cricket news - One Test match doesn't make a summer: Holder

This Jason Holder-led Windies team is hungrier than ever.

"We still have a long way to go," said a measured, Jason holder, only a few had looks after his Windies side completed the most comprehensive Test wins.

The hosts secured the victory in Bridgetown, which runs from 381 deep into the fourth day, by a remarkable eight for 60 for Roston Chase and his part-time spin-off. In fact, Chase the hand, with the second-best figures against England in the Caribbean - just Ambrose is better - refers to the contributions during the XI in order to achieve this success.

Shimron Hetmyer 81 from the first innings, competitive, Kemar Roach's five-for 17 decimated England for 77 and Shane Dowrich improved his record against England with 116 before Chase had the last word. It was not the captain, took the man of the match award with a girl double hundred (202), and a few smart moves in the field, holder is hoping that this is just the beginning.

"I think we ticked a couple of boxes in this test match," Holder said in the post-match presentation. "It is about turning up in Antigua and the same.

"A Test match is no summer. We have two test matches and to ensure that we close out the series."

For holder, his power is banished, what was the test to the end of 2018. A shoulder injury kept him out of the tour of Bangladesh and he saw from a distance, as West Indies succumbed to a 2-0 defeat in the series. Back to the format in such a fashion both personally and as a collective, fills him with understandable joy.

"It's been a while already that I want to play Test cricket and it is really good to get back in the game like this. I have a lot of hard work, only to return to full fitness."

The celebration after reaching three figures for his third Test hundred and second against England - everything has already been said. The double century was raised with just as much joy, but holder is known, it was the recognition of the first milestone, meant more to him. The screams of pleasure that accompanies, the jumps for joy, said it all.

"It's hard to explain. A little bit of emotion out of it. I have a lot of bottle for a long time, and I had the moment to Express myself, a little. It is really gratifying to know I can be a whole sessions asked."

It was perhaps not too bad for Chase that he was given the man worthy of-of-the-match-day, he also scored 54 in the first innings. But there were no hard feelings towards his fellow Bajan.

"Jason is a legend in my eyes," beamed Chase. "My old friend - I believe in him and he believes in himself. He is a warrior on the field of battle. It could not be, to get the feeling that the hundred."

It's a lot to take from this victory, not least because the West Indies by a run of four consecutive defeats, a team that had won by besting eight of their last nine. Hunt, though, is guarded against to far in front with a 1: 0 lead and two Tests to spare.

"It gives us great confidence in the series, because we are 1-0 and against a higher placed team than us. For us from here, we can't make to the big-headed now. We need to continue what we do best."
