Cricket news - Dar, Amin star in Pakistan's consolation win

Nida Dar hit a crisp 53

Pakistan registered a consolation victory over Windies in the third and final T20I in Karachi, winning the dead rubber by 12 runs. At the helm of the victory was Nida Dar, who scored 53 off 40 balls, and Anam Amin, who picked 3 for 34 to rattle Windies early in the 151-run chase.

Opting to bat, Pakistan lost Javeria Khan to Shakera Selman in the third over. Captain Bismah Maroof and opener Omaima Sohail then put on 34 runs for the second wicket to ward off the Windies' new-ball bowling, chipping at the target with a decent run-rate. Maroof's dismissal in the seventh over, when she was bowled by Afy Fletcher, brought Dar to the crease who forged small partnerships with Omaima Sohail and Iram Javed to keep Pakistan going. Dar was eventually run out in the last over of the innings by Shemaine Campbelle but her half-century had ensured that she had more than enough on the board.

Chasing a target slightly above par, Kycia Knight was stumped off Anam Amin in the first over the game. Deandra Dottin, her co-opener, laid into Pakistan's bowling with an innings of 46 off 29, a knock that included 3 fours and 4 sixes, but her dismissal meant the end of Windies' hopes. Dottin was out to Amin again, and Windies thereafter kept losing regular wickets. The only substantial partnership was for 33 runs between Natasha McLean and Merissa Aguilleira for the fifth wicket but both batsmen fell in consecutive overs, the 17th and 18th of the innings, and it was all too much for the lower-order to handle.

Brief Scores: Pakistan Women 150/6 in 20 overs (Nida Dar 53; Karishma Ramharack 2-20) beat Windies Women 138/8 in 20 overs (Deandra Dottin 46; Anam Amin 3-34) by 12 runs
