Cricket news - Live Cricket Score: South Africa vs Sri Lanka, 2nd T20I, Centurion
Isuru Udana produced one of the finest T20I innings by a Sri Lanka - 48-ball 84* -but it didn't prove enough as the visitors lost by 16 runs. Nonetheless, he can be proud. His 47-ball 84* kept the game alive for much longer than it should have been given how the contest had panned out before he walked out top bat. South Africa, meanwhile, have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
Not sure if Sri Lanka still have a chance but Isuru Udana's power-packed fifty has caused some worries for the hosts. 33 runs from the last 2 overs.
JP Duminy is providing quite some drama here. After being hit for a six and a four, but ends up getting Isuru Udana to hole out at long on. But wait... NO BALL!
WICKET JP Duminy had all the time in the world to take a top-edged skier but he dropped it. Nonetheless, he made amends for it by quickly gathering the ball and running Dhananjaya De Silva out with a direct hit at the non-striker's end.
Any records getting broken tonight?
STRIKE 6 Tabraiz Shamsi gets a wicket too. The pressure of the ever-mounting run rate was beginning to show. Angelo Perera gets an outside edge to a googly to JP Duminy at slips. The shoe call celebration starts for 'Shammo'!
WICKET Dwaine Pretorius joins the fun. Thisara Perera top edges a pull and is out caught. Big wicket. Half the team is bacck in the hut. Is the chase shut already?
Sri Lanka may have lost four wickets in the powerplay but they have managed to take 47 runs from the first 6 overs. Thisara Perera remains the key for Sri Lanka's chase.
Kamindu Mendis is caught behind. Sinthemba Qeshile takes his first catch in international cricket. Two wickets in two balls for Chris Morris. On a hat-trick. Also, a double wicket maiden over for Chris Morris. Why on earth is he not in contention for a world cup berth? Meanwhile, Sri Lanka are reeling at 31 for 4.
WICKET Chris Morris too joins the party. A few dot balls, and Niroshan Dickwella's brief but entertaining innings comes to an end. Looking to hit over the infield, he hits one straight to the mid on fielder.
Dale Steyn has struck twice in the first over - dismissing Avishka Fernando and Kusal Perera - to leave Sri Lanka reeling in chase.
They have reached the par score courtesy a freak boundary off the last ball. JP Duminy's lusty blows has helped South Africa reach 180/3. David Miller couldn't come to the party in the death overs and as a result the hosts might believe they are slightly shoprt of the total they would've liked on the board. For as good as the conditions are for batting, and without two key bowlers - Rabada and Imran Tahir, this will be quite a challenging chase for Sri Lanka.
JP Duminy has creamed a couple of big shots but David Miller is yet to get going. The par T20 score at this venue is 179. For as good as South Africa's innings has been, it will be some challenge to reach that total.
WICKET Akila Dananjaya has been brought back into the attack, and much like Lasith Malinga, strikes!. The dangerous Rassie van der Dussen is bowled for 64 - his career-best T20I score. Two new batsmen at the crease for South Africa - JP Duminy and David Miller.
WICKET Lasith Malinga has struck on his return spell and got Sri Lanka a much-needed breakthrough. Reeza Hendricks is undone by a delivery that dips in and he hits it straight to Kamindu Mendis at mid off. The century partnership is broken.
Rassie van der Dussen, who has been the more aggressive of the two in the second wicket partnership, too brings up his second T20I fifty after a few quiet minutes in the middle.
Century partnership up for the second wicket pair of Rassie van der Dussen and Reeza Hendricks - off only 66 balls.
Reeza Hendricks cut a slightly short delivery outside off for a boundary to bring up his 3rd T20I fifty and help South Africa go past the 100-run mark.
Following three run outs in the previous game, South Africa have been over-cautious in taking risky runs today. Nonetheless, Rassie van der Dussen's three sixes have powered South Africa to 82 for 1 in 10 overs.
Fifty runs up for the second wicket pair
Reeza Hendricks has been slow to get going but has played some sparkling shots for boundaries. South Africa, despite 11 runs in the sixth over, has managed only 39 runs in the powerplay.
In-form Aiden Markram falls early on debut. Foxed by a slower delivery from Isuru Udana, the opener chipped the ball to mid on after the bat turned in his hand while going too early into the shot. First strike for Sri Lanka.
Lasith Malinga takes the new ball. Aiden Markram and Reeza Hendricks have come out to open the innings for South Africa.
South Africa (Playing XI): Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, Rassie van der Dussen, David Miller, Jean-Paul Duminy (c), Sinethemba Qeshile (wk), Chris Morris, Dwaine Pretorius, Dale Steyn, Lutho Sipamla, Tabraiz Shamsi

Sri Lanka have won the toss and elected to field. Visitors haven't made a change to their Playing XI. For South Africa, Sinethemba Qeshile and Aiden Markram make their debuts.
Hello and welcome to the second T20I between South Africa and Sri Lanka. The visitors kept a full-strength South African side in check before going down in the Super Over should give them a boost.
South Africa will be without several of their main players but can still make a good XI. Can Sri Lanka have it any better at Centurion? Let's wait and watch.
