Sean Abbott picked up 7 for 45 to bundle out Tasmania for 120 and hand New South Wales a place in the Sheffield Shield 2018-19 on the fourth day of the final round matches on Saturday (March 23). New South Wales declared on their overnight score of 149 for 5 - setting the hosts 270 to win.

Matthew Wade struck 65 but Abbott was on song right from the start. Even before the chase got going, Abbott landed four blows to leave Tasmania reeling at 23 for 5. There wasn't much to cheer for Tasmania as they collapsed like a pack of cards to fold in 35.4 overs.

Needing 98 on the final day, Victoria lost Marcus Harris, Travis Dean and Will Pucovski before cantering to an easy win against South Australia. Starting on 69 for no loss, Dean and Harris scored 130 for the opening wicket to shut the door on the hosts. There was a late wobble, with Tom Andrews picking two wickets but Seb Gotch and Matthew Short polished off the chase in 48.2 overs.
