Cricket news - Live Cricket Score - Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Capitals, IPL 2019

That's all from us folks! Hope you enjoyed the game! Until next time then ...

POST-MATCH THOUGHTS

Shikhar Dhawan, Man of the Match: I knew it could be my first T20 hundred but the team goal is more important, hence I took that single rather than taking a huge risk. It's totally opposite here compared to Delhi. I was telling Dinesh the same thing. It's a good wicket to bat on. Good for the bowlers as well as the batsmen, makes it interesting. In Delhi we have to adapt ourselves, hence we got to have that skill. I really enjoyed in the first six overs but I knew I had to stay till the last. I was getting the right thoughts and I had to take the game deep. Rishabh is such a big hitter he can always hit it out of the park.

Shreyas Iyer: It is amazing feeling. before the game, I was recollecting the last win. It is a good victory. Back-to-back wins feel nice. It as really tough for us to decide the team. Out of the 12 we had, we had one change. I think it was a good moive to get it Keemo Paul. We love to bat on such tracks. We love batting on variable tracks. The way Dhawan batted, he showed his experience and class. Was well appreciated the way he played. Amazing to watch him. Tpday he came out and delivered the goods. He is an amazing personality and is good to have him around.

Rishabh Pant: I just try to keep my head clear and play according to the ball. (The plan) Take the game deep and complete the game as soon as possible. In T20, when you are chasing, you need to control and pace your innings in such a way that you could complete the match in 18-20 overs. I don't focus on what the bowlers are thinking. I just focus on my stuff. We (him and Dhawan) were just talking about taking the match deep. It was a fantastic pitch to bat on and in the end we got it easily.

Dinesh Karthik: To be honest the par score was 10-15 runs more than that. We didn't bat well and didn't post a good score. I expected our bowlers to perform better, that didn't happen though. Such things happen in a game of cricket. They (Lynn and Narine) are two key players and missing them is never good. But Shubman grabbed the opportunity and played really well. You are always going to have replacements. It was hard on Joe to get out on the first ball, but I am sure he'll come back strong in the next game. I think picking wickets on this ground has been difficult but bowlers can work on few areas and come back harder. That's what IPL is all about, coming back stronger every time you can.

ALL OVER - DC WIN BY SEVEN WICKETS

Inrgam finishes it with a six and then says sorry to Dhawan. He's stranded on 97 as DC seal an easy win. Dhawan applauds the effort as he walks off. This is the first time they've win at the Eden Gardens since 2012.

One of the criticisms often directed at Dhawan is that he doesn't finish games after being set. On the night he wasn't going to leave it to others. As the equation dropped to 41 in the last five overs, he attacked Kuldeep Yadav to nullify any last-minute threat from the hosts.

Several issues cropping up for KKR as they are finding it hard to find performers past Russell.

WICKET

Pant looking to finish early. Goes for the big one against Rana and doesn't connect well. Caught at long-on. DC need just 17 now

DC BOSSING CHASE

Dhawan and Pant haven't let the KKR bowlers settle down and are scoring freely at the moment. They need 41 in the last five overs to seal their fourth win. This should be a canter.

TIGHT FINISH ON THE CARDS?

DC, after a fast start, have 88 for 2 on the board after 10 overs. Dhawan has scored his 34th half-century while Pant is settling in. They need 91 in the last half of the contest and the pressure will be on the bowlers with the dew factor coming in to play. This is building up nicely for a tense finish.

TWO DOWN

Lucky break for KKR. Short and down the leg side. Iyer played the glance too fine and gives an easy catch to the 'keeper.

DC 57 for 2

FAST START, REVIEW LOST AND A WICKET

There was a review for a caught behind against Dhawan. Looked like the ball clipped the inside edge and the pad at the same time. Not enough evidence for the third umpire. Dhawan survives. He's in no mood to relent.

Prasidh Krishna makes up for the expensive over. Gets the outside edge of Shaw's bat before Karthik takes a superb catch.

DC 32 for 1

Alright then, Prasidh Krishna to bowl. Dhawan and Shaw out to open ...

KKR END WITH 178

Russell's late blitz has given KKR a fighting score after Gill's half-century. The wicket of Russell and Gill came just at the right time for DC and they have managed to keep the hosts to a par score. KKR struggled at the middle period. Gill and Rana scored 30 off 26 and that hampered the side a bit.

RUSSELL FALLS

Morris gets the low full toss in from around the wicket. Smashed straight to deep point. He falls for a 21-ball 45. KKR have 161 on the board and will be eyeing at least 180.

RUSSELL VS RABADA 2.0

Ponting had stressed they are saving Rabada for Russell. This is how the second bout went - 6, 2, 6, 1, 1 (Brathwaite) and dot ball.

KKR have 160 for 5 after 18 overs.

RUSSELL VS RABADA

A six and a four and Russell collects 12 from the Rabada the 16th over.

FIVE DOWN

Rabada doesn't even celebrate. Karthik did the job for him. Full and on the pads. Flicked straight to deep fine leg. KKR are now wobbling after the Gill fifty. Everything depending on Russell now.

KKR 122 for 5

GILL FALLS

On the pads and clipped straight to short fine leg. Not the best of the shots but he's unlucky to find that fielder. Keemo Paul gets the wicket. He smashed 65 off 39 and put KKR in a good position to go big in the last few overs.

KKR 115 for 4

THREE DOWN

Six and out. Morris banged it in short and was pulled over midwicket. Follows it up with a yorker and Rana made room to hit through the off side. Doesn't connect and losses his stumps.

KKR 93 for 3

50 FOR GILL

His second in IPL. The last one came at the same venue last year against CSK. He's kept the score moving but needs to go big. KKR are scoring at just over seven at the moment on a batting track. They need at least 180 to challenge DC.

KKR 87 for 2

UTHAPPA FALLS

The struggle ends. Rabada follows up the yorker with a bouncer. Uthappa wanted to pull that one but was beaten for pace. Gloves it to the keeper and Pant takes a good catch.

KKR 63 for 2

POWERPLAY DONE

Steady progress from Uthappa and Gill. They've batted well after the early blow and are looking to build a solid foundation for the middle-order.

KKR 41 for 1

WHAT. A. START

Swing and movement. Superb first delivery from Ishant. Swing in and then nipped in to beat the defence of Denly. Stumps shattered and his debut doesn't start too well.

KKR 0 for 1

KKR bring in Denly, Ferguson and Brathwaite; DC replace Lamichhane with Keemo Paul

After the disappointing show in Chennai, KKR batsmen will breathe easy with a batting friendly track ahead of them. Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine have, as a pair, failed to provide the starts they are capable of, leaving the middle order with much of the catching up to do. Nitish Rana teed off in the first two games, but has been relatively sedate since, as has Robin Uthappa.

Hello and welcome to the live blog of the IPL 2019 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals in Kolkata. KKR are at No. 2 while DC are looking for a win to break into top four. The last time these two sides met, they played a thriller that went into the Super Over and the fans can expect another cracking contest.

Russell threat looms large over DC but they have Rabada to bank on. KKR bowlers are struggling and the DC batsmen will try to cash on that. Stay tuned for more updates ...
