SUPER OVER: MUMBAI WIN
Jasprit Bumrah does the star turn for Mumbai, giving away only 8 runs in the Super Over. Manish Pandey was run out first ball trying to steal a second, while Nabi fell soon after hitting a six as SRH got just 8 runs in the Super Over.
In reply, Hardik Pandya slammed a first ball six off Rashid Khan to leave them needing just 3 runs in the next 5 deliveries. They managed to do so in the next two balls to take Mumbai through to the playoffs.
This is bonkers! Absolutely stunning stuff from Manish Pandey. With seven needed off the final ball, Pandey smashes a six over cow corner to force a super over.
17 needed off the final over.
Hardik to Pandey
It's all looking a lost cause for SRH, but Pandey keeps fighting on. He's helped himself to a fifty now, and will need to carry on for a bit, and then some more, if SRH are to win.
Quick wickets derail SRH
Wickets continue to tumble for SRH. Williamson, Vijay Shankar and Abhishek Sharma all fall in quick succession, leaving the visitors in deep trouble. Manish Pandey will have to play a blinder from here on.
Openers fall after quick start
Bumrah to MI's rescue. Two quick wickets from the right-armer, dismissing both Saha and Guptill to bring MI back. Williamson falls to Krunal soon after to slide deeper.
MI restricted to 162/5
MI will be mighty disappointed with this score. They were off to a steady start, but just couldn't push on to get a big score. Quinton de Kock laboured his way to 69 off 58, but Mumbai Indians missed the big hits in the end. 49 runs came off the last 5 overs.
That's the big wicket for SRH. Bhuvi outsmarts Hardik with a bouncer, which the batsman can only hit to long on. Big breakthrough this for the visitors.
Quick wickets dent MI
Just when Mumbai looked set to step on the accelerator, SRH do well to pull the home team back. Khaleel Ahmed gets rid of the well-set Suryakumar Yadav, while Evin Lewis falls for a six-ball one to Mohd Nabi.
MI make slow progress
The runs aren't coming at a rate Mumbai would like them. De Kock has been swinging hard, but has found little success so far. Suryakumar Yadav has done well thus far, but Mumbai find themselves at 76/1 after 10 overs and in need of a strong finish
Rohit falls after steady start
Mumbai's steady start has gone down the drain now. Rohit and Quinton de Kock had gotten their team off to a decent beginning, taking them to 36 for no loss after five overs. But in order to take full toll of the powerplay, Rohit goes after Khaleel, and holes out first ball of the sixth over.
TOSS AND TEAMS:
Mumbai Indians win the toss, and elect to bat first on a brand new pitch. Dodgy call? We'll find out. No changes for the hosts, while SRH bring in Guptill and Thampi - their first games of the season.
Chennai Super Kings are currently top with 18 points from 13 games, and have also given their NRR a big boost with their handsome victory over second placed Delhi Capitals (16 points). MI and SRH follow with 14 and 16 points respectively, with one more game to play after today's. The bottom half of the table has RR (11 points from 13 matches), KKR (10 from 12), KXIP (10 from 12) apart from RCB (9 from 13), who are already out of the reckoning.
It's that time again. The business end of the tournament, with teams scrapping for points and the last slots in the playoff. Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad are the frontrunners for the last 2 slots there, with CSK and DC already through, and they will square up in Mumbai hoping to take the big step. A win for MI will assure them of a place in the last four, while an SRH win will get them within touching distance of the same.
