India bagged a 67-run win and sealed the series 2-1.

India bagged a 67-run win and sealed the series 2-1.

That's all from us folks! Hope you enjoyed this cracker from India. Until next them then ...

Here's what the players had to say -

Pollard: We will look to take positives from this game. At the end of the day, we knew where we faltered and it's work in progress for us now. It was gettable, we have chased a big total in 2016 here. When you look at the way Rahul and Rohit went about at the start, they took their time and then exploded. Yes, we are disappointed but we look to move on from here. There is a lot of emerging players coming through the ranks. Success is something you need to do day in and day out. Those are things we are working out. All is not lost, we still have 3 ODIs to play. We will look to stay positive.

Kohli (Man of the series): We had spoken a lot. It was about going out there and executing. I was in the zone and I carried on. Told KL, he needs to bat on and hold one end. It was a pretty special innings and also being our second wedding anniversary, it was a special gift. Batting first we won and feels really good. I know I can contribute in all three formats. I think two guys in the middle with clarity and the way Rahul and Rohit played today was the key today. Batting first, we have been too tight and hesitant, but this pitch allowed us to play freely. You don't really feel the pressure when you have 20-25 runs on the board.

Rahul (Man of the match): Both of them were in destructive mood today. Happy that we won the series and every game is important for us leading up to the T20 WC. It's obvious that our batting first record hasn't been that great. Today was a great opportunity and very happy that it came off. This will give a lot of confidence and now know what to do batting first. Each game will be important and a learning lesson for us before the World Cup. Like any other format, once you are set, you want to carry on and know what shots to play on. T20s has been kind and I try to do my best and give the results for the team.

Bhuvneshwar: Pollard is a good player when he gets going, so it was satisfying for me. When Pollard gets going, you know he can hit a lot of boundaries. It was satisfying to get him out. Can't bowl length balls to him. Need to bowl yorkers and bouncers. He is so powerful that if you miss even a bit, he'll punish you. In a night match, bowling second is tough. Difficult to grip the ball, and the ball also travels a lot here. Feeling good. When you do well in T20Is, it does feel good. Looking forward to the ODIs.

Harsha Bhogle @bhogleharsha Amazing stat that man of the match KL Rahul's 91(56) was the slowest innings in the Indian team among those that got off the mark. And it was at a SR of 162!! 05:38 PM • Dec 12, 2019

All over - India win by 67 runs and take the series 2-1

In a see ball, hit ball contest, India have prevailed over West Indies - after posting 240 for 3 - in Mumbai. Rohit Sharma (71), KL Rahul (91) and Virat Kohli (70 not out) laid the platform for the bowlers before the pacers completed the demolition job. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Deepak Chahar and Kuldeep Yadav bagged two wickets each as the hosts sealed a comfortable win. Kieran Pollard kept India worried for a bit as he smashed 68 off 39 but West Indies were always behind after being reduced to 17 for 3 early on.

Pollard falls

Bhuvneshwar gets the big wicket. India can breathe easy now as the West Indies captain goes after smashing 68 off 39.

West Indies 141 for 6

50 for Pollard ... off 33 balls.

Holder goes

Second wicket for Kuldeep. Trying to take on the left-arm spinner and he failed to connect well. It went high up and test Manish Pandey properly before he made that catch look easy.

West Indies 103 for 5

10 overs done - West Indies need 144 off 60

Pollard and Hetmyer steadied the ship for West Indies but Kuldeep gets the latter. Shivam Dube had leaked 30 off his two overs and Hetmyer was looking to continue the momentum. Trying to take on Kuldeep he mistimed one to long-on to leave West Indies reeling. Kuldeep had been hit for consecutive sixes on the previous two balls but slowed it down beautifully to earn a wicket.

West Indies 97 for 4

West Indies reeling

Three wickets in three overs and West Indies are struggling big time. Stunner from Shivam Dube at third man. Back of length ball outside off from Chahar and Pooran cut that one. The top edge flew to third man and Dube dived in front to complete the catch.

West Indies 17 for 3

Two down

Simmons goes now. Length ball outside off from Shami and he wanted to slog that one to the on side. Top edge is caught just to the left of point by Shreyas Iyer.

West Indies 17 for 2

First wicket

Early breakthrough for India and Bhuvneshwar Kumar gets Brandon King. He's caught at deep point and Hetmyer is the new man in.

West Indies 12 for 1

Injury update - Lewis has been taken to the hospital for a knee scan. Brandon King will open with Lendl Simmons. The players are back. Deepak Chahar to open the bowling for India.

India 240 for 3

Enough? You can't really say that against this West Indies line-up. But Indian bowlers have a very good fighting chance in the series-decider. India were slowed down from the 16th over but Kohli and Rahul managed to finish well. Kohli ends with a strike rate of 242 - scoring 70 off 29 - with Rahul making 91. Rohit Sharma smashed a century and scored 135 for the opening wicket with Rahul to lay the platform but India could well have had 250 and even 260 here. You can't be really satisfied on this track. This will be a cracking chase and you should stick around.

Fifty off 20 balls from Virat Kohli. He's pumped and he's on fire. Gets there with two consecutive sixes.

Just three runs off the 16th over. Williams has slowed India down successfully. He's bowled three overs for just 21 runs.

Five overs to go

Rahul is batting on 75. Kohli (23 off 9) has joined in after two quick strikes of Rohit and Pant. West Indies might just rue this. Rahul was a dead duck but Jason Holder failed to strike at the bowler's end. The ball bounced over the stumps.

Can India get 70 in the last five overs? They are 173 for 2 now.

Two down

Pant goes now. Full and wide from Pollard. He lost his balance and smashed it to long-off. Will India fumble the start from here?

India 138 for 2

Harsha Bhogle @bhogleharsha Was a big call to send an under pressure Rishabh Pant to bat. 02:38 PM • Dec 12, 2019

Ian bishop @irbishi India showing that everyday is a learning opportunity. They have been ushered into 21st century Power Play batting tempo out of need. Necessity is the mother of invention. 02:19 PM • Dec 12, 2019

Rohit falls

71 off 34. He's put India in a dominant position and on course for a total past 200. Back of length ball and he wanted to tonk that over midwicket. It went up very high and Walsh Jr. took a superb catch.

India 135 for 1 in 11.4 overs

Cricbuzz @cricbuzz Lewis is being stretchered off the ground #INDvWI 02:31 PM • Dec 12, 2019

10 overs done and India are 116 for no loss ...

Fifty for Rahul now off 29 balls ...

India's 100 up in eight overs

Rohit has got a 23-ball half-century. Two massive sixes against Pierre from him. India have the momentum but what's a safe score here?

India 102 for no loss

Pratyush Sinha @prat1204 The urgency of T20s has finally got to India. Not surprised it's come against West Indies at the Wankhede. #INDvWI 02:03 PM • Dec 12, 2019

Powerplay done

Both India openers are on a six-hitting spree. Rohit started it, Rahul has now caught up and out-scored his partner. Slight injury concern for India as Rohit dived and seems to have hurt his shoulder. He will continue and try and make the most of it.

Here's how the overs have gone:

India 72 for no loss

BCCI @BCCI 400 International SIXES for @ImRo45 #TeamIndia 01:44 PM • Dec 12, 2019

Two overs done

A drive creamed past cover in the first over by Rohit. Two edges and two boundaries for Rahul. Holder came back well in the second over and troubled Rahul with bounce. This pitch is really, really good!

India 14 for no loss

Alright then, Rohit on strike and Rahul to open with him. Cottrell will bowl the first over. Excited?

Harsha Bhogle @bhogleharsha Very good toss to win for the West Indies. But this is the real challenge. The numbers favour the team batting second for a reason. 01:05 PM • Dec 12, 2019

Hello and welcome to the live blog of the third T20I between India and West Indies in Mumbai. The series at tied at 1-1. West Indies batsmen have dominated the Indian bowling in both contests. Will things change today? The pressure is squarely on the Indian bowlers today.

And then there's the spotlight on Rishabh Pant. He can't catch a break, can he? It will continue in Mumbai until there's a turnaround of sorts for the wicketkeeper and a consistent one at that. Stay tuned as we bring you more updates.
