Dolphins vs Knights, Durban

Knights' legspinner Shaun von Berg's final day four-fer to trigger a dramatic collapse left Dolphins with little choice but to playout for a draw in Durban.

Chasing 152 for victory, Dolphins made a strong start by promoting wicketkeeper-bat Mangaliso Mosehle to open. He hit a brisk 30 off 25 to set the tone but von Berg's four wickets saw Dolphins slip to 88 for 7 from a comfortable 43 without loss at one point. Bad light too came to their rescue as the two teams shared the points.

Knights recovered courtesy useful knock in 60s from Andries Gous and Raynard van Tonder in their second innings, where they scored 331 after being asked to follow on. Okhule Cele and Prenelan Subrayen had shared nine wickets between them to leave the Knights reeling. Dolphins had taken a 180-run lead after making 335 in their first innings, batting first on the Durban wicket, courtesy Sarel Erwee's brilliant 136.

Brief scores: Dolphins 335 (Sarel Erwee 136, Senuran Muthusamy 80; Tshepo Ntuli 4-121) and 89/7 (Marques Ackerman 31; Shaun van Schalkwyk 4-27) drew with Knights 155 (Andries Gous 45; Okhule Cele 5-38, Prenelan Subrayen 4-49) and 331 (Andries Gous 69, Raynard van Tonder 65; Prenelan Subrayen 5-147).

Warriors vs Cape Cobras, East London

Gihahn Cloete's penultimate day 91 proved crucial as Warriors eked out a draw against Cape Cobras in a rain-affected game at the Buffalo Park in East London. With the weather playing spoilsport, Cloete's knock laid the platform for Warriors to post a strong 341/9 in reply to the Cobras' first innings score of 333 and declare in order to force a result. Cobras, batting for the second time, posted 109 for 1 courtesy the brisk, unbeaten half-century from David Bedingham that took their total lead to 101 at stumps on the penultimate day.

However, wet outfield delayed the start on the final morning before the play was eventually called off and the match declared a draw.

Brief scores: Cape Cobras 333 (Lizaad Williams 83, Nandre Burger 48; Basheeru-Deen Walters 3-72, Tian Koekemoer 3-64) and 109/1 (David Bedingham 56*; Lutho Sipamla 1-12) drew with Warriors 341/9 decl (Gihahn Cloete 91, Rudi Second 55; Mthiwekhaya Nabe 2-44, Nandre Burger 2-68).
