Kamran Akmal posted his third PSL century

Peshawar Zalmi vs Quetta Gladiators, Karachi

Kamran Akmal's 55-ball 101, also his third PSL hundred, helped Peshawar Zalmi chase 149 with six wickets intact and nine balls to spare. Haider Ali, the Pakistan U19 opener, scored 25 off 28 in an 82-run partnership for the second wicket with Akmal, setting up Zalmi's easy win after a defeat in the opening game. For Quetta Gladiators, Jason Roy earlier scored an unbeaten 57-ball 73. Sarfaraz Ahmed, the captain and wicketkeeper, made a 25-ball 41 lower down the order but the total wasn't enough on the day. Wahab Riaz stood out with his stingy spell of 2 for 21 in his four overs.

Brief Scores: Quetta Gladiators 148/5 in 20 overs (Jason Roy 73*, Sarfaraz Ahmed 41; Wahab Riaz 2-21) lost to Peshawar Zalmi 153/4 in 18.3 overs (Kamran Akmal 101, Haider Ali 25; Fawad Ahmed 2-40) by six wickets

Islamabad United vs Multan Sultans, Lahore

Luke Ronchi (45-ball 74) and Colin Munro (32-ball 50) forged together an explosive 92-run opening stand to help Islamabad United ace a 165-run chase by eight wickets, with more than 3.2 overs to spare. Multan Sultans, sent in to bat earlier, were plagued by untimely wickets and sluggish recoveries right through. They had a 41-run opening stand in quick time but then came up against Amad Butt and his figures of 4 for 27 on the night. Zeeshan Ashraf's 29-ball 50 tried to inflate the score to over 160 but it wasn't enough on a very flat Gaddafi Stadium pitch.

Brief Scores: Multan Sultans 164/8 in 20 overs (Zeeshan Ashraf 50; Amad Butt 4-27) lost to Islamabad United 165/2 in 16.4 overs (Luke Ronchi 74; Mohammad Ilyas 1-17) by eight wickets
