Dan Lawrence, one of the reserve players in the England squad for Pakistan series, has left the team due to a family bereavement. The ECB have confirmed that they will not call-up a replacement for the second Test.

The young Essex batsman was one among the reserves for the recently-concluded West Indies series and is also part of the squad for the ongoing Pakistan series.

England are also without Ben Stokes, who will miss the remaining Tests for family reasons. Zak Crawley is likely to get the nod, having not played the previous two Tests since England went in for an extra bowling option.

The second Test is scheduled to begin on Thursday (13 August) at The Rose Bowl in Southampton, with England 1-0 up after a three-wicket win in Manchester.
