Zimbabwe continued their good work from the latter part of the first day to restrict Pakistan's charge towards a massive first innings total. The morning didn't start well for the hosts though, with nightwatchman Sajid Khan being dropped at gully off the third over of the day.

The tailender then frustrated Zimbabwe for almost an hour, giving good company to the rock-solid Abid Ali. At the stroke of the drinks break, Donald Tiripano managed to break through, getting Sajid to nick one behind. Mohammad Rizwan was his usual enterprising self but like many of his teammates yesterday, perished to a poor shot.

Zimbabwe then got Hasan Ali cheaply as well, strengthening their ambitions to bowl Pakistan out for a sub-400 total. Nauman Ali managed to survive, and Abid Ali will hope he gets support from the tail, so that he can eye a possible double ton and importantly, get Pakistan to a more substantial total.

Brief scores: Pakistan 353/7 (Abid Ali 151*, Azhar Ali 126, Blessing Muzarabani 3-53)
