Cricket news - Live Cricket Score - England vs New Zealand, 2nd Test, Day 4, Birmingham
New Zealand were well in control of the second Test with NZ on the mat at 122/9.
New Zealand beat England by 8 wickets and take the second Test and with that the series 1-0.It was coming and if the third day at Lord's wasn't washed out, New Zealand could've taken the series 2-0 given their dominance throughout the series. At Edgbaston, despite making six changes, they've outplayed England who seemed clueless. They had themselves to blame with the dropped catches and some poor batting in the second innings, but take nothing away from New Zealand, whose bowlers were outstanding. The bowlers did their job in the first innings as did the batsmen, setting up the game beautifully for a good finish. Although in their chase of 38 they lost two wickets, stand-in skipper Tom Latham hit the winning runs to take New Zealand to only theirthird series win in England, and the firstsince 1999. Hope you've enjoyed the cricket across the two Tests and are ready for the WTC final in a few days' time. Thank you for your company. Stay safe and goodbye!
Ian Raphael Bishop @irbishi New Zealand have made themselves into one of the truly impressive narratives of the modern game. Great win today for them. Smallest population in test cricket to choose from; top teams in the world now; and into the World Test championship final they go. 11:08 AM  Jun 06, 2021

Lawrence Booth @the_topspin Great win, New Zealand. A chastening few days for England - and English cricket. It'll be nice to watch two decent teams in the WTC final from Friday. 11:04 AM  Jun 06, 2021
Guy Heveldt @GuyHeveldt This is another significant achievement for a @BLACKCAPS team that’s risen its way up the cricketing world over the past six or so years. They’ve dismantled England and Kiwis should savour it. And yet it almost, weirdly, has a “curtain raiser” feel to it #ENGvNZ 10:57 AM  Jun 06, 2021
OUT! Will Young chops on with just five runs to win. He's so disappointed, but went for the drive against a full and wide delivery and ends up playing on. Ross Taylor, who had scored a brilliant 80 in the first innings, has a chance to finish this now.
Edged and gone!!Good pace, full deliverywith a hint of swing...Stuart Broad gets Conway early. Broad kept probing away in the channel outside off and Conway's has a poke at one. New Zealand are 6/1, but have just 32 to get.
Anderson with the ball, New Zealand's openers are in the middle. Here we go!
Lawrence Booth @the_topspin Stone falls first ball of the day. Kind of sums it up. 10:01 AM  Jun 06, 2021
The Cricket Paper @TheCricketPaper ONE BALL! #ENGvNZ 10:01 AM  Jun 06, 2021
John Etheridge @JohnSunCricket Genuinely think think is the worst England batting line-up I've seen. A cluster of players with technical or temperamental problems who average in the low 30s or worse. If Root fails, they're stuffed. Trouble is, England have invested two years in most of them. 10:02 AM  Jun 06, 2021
WOW - it took New Zealand JUST ONE BALL to bowl England out.Short of a length delivery hits Stone high on the bat. Gets a faint edge and Boult gets his second wicket. New Zealand need 38 to win the Test and the series.
Trent Boult will kick-off proceedings for New Zealand.
England lead by 37 runs. New Zealand need just one last wicket to come out to bat and chase down the set target for a series win. That, with two days remaining.
Hello and welcome to the fourth day of the second Test between England and New Zealand. What is required from the teams is quite clear. England have only themselves to blame for the position they find themselves in. They dropped too many catches and let off New Zealand's key batsmen that helped them grow their totals before a poor outing with the bat in the second innings.
England will hope to extent that lead with Anderson and Stone in the middle, just like New Zealand's last-wicket stand did yesterday. New Zealand's pacers will be raring to go to break this stand that is just 10 balls old.
