12.30 pm local - Lunch, Day 4
Oh we are full with rain but here, have some more lunch. It's not raining as heavily now though, but it's still raining. And it means the umpires will continue to wait until the rain stops, when they can pretend to have a look at that obviously soaked outfield and give us some hope.
Keep praying the clouds away.
The clouds are looking down on cricket, or the lack of thereof
Murtaza ali @Murtaza84080556 @prat1204 what will be the condition of the pitch now??? 10:49 AM  Jun 06, 2021
Pratham Devjani @DevjaniPratham @prat1204 By the looks of it,the first session looks gone by. Does there look a chance of play starting in the second session. And will the rain falling whole day today, not make it hard for a scheduled start tommorow? 10:38 AM  Jun 06, 2021
Dr Drake Ramoray @sankalp30209041 @prat1204 Since the ICC were well aware of the forecast , should they have postponed it further or might have changed the venue ? 11:01 AM  Jun 06, 2021
Pradyumna_Desai18 @PradyumnaDesai1 It would be nice if you can update us every 30 minutes at least @prat1204 11:06 AM  Jun 06, 2021
Mr. Gada @kya_tapleek_hai If game has to be played, especially any decider match then it has to be ensured that stadium is fully equipped to tackle such issues specially bad light or rain. Use Retractable roofs and floodlights. This is just heart break and mockery of fans @prat1204 11:01 AM  Jun 06, 2021
Now send me some of your best rain jokes.
11.15 am local - Still no cricket
Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Cricket. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain. Rain.
Can you find the cricket in there? Anyway, here's something on Devon Conway by Bharat Sundaresan.
"Devon Conway and Sriram Krishnamurthy had agreed on a rather "sweet" deal in the winter of 2019. It centred around the prolific left-hander buying his batting coach and confidant a peanut butter cookie from Mrs Higgins' in Wellington every time he scored a century. The two had discovered the special Mrs Higgins' family recipe one afternoon post a typically lengthy training session at the Sky Stadium. The Cookie Pact didn't last for too long though." Read the rest here.
10.31 am local - Start delayed
Nothing that should spring you out of your bed but the start of the day's play has been delayed at the Ageas Bowl. It's raining.
It's a good time to read about all that happened on Day 3. On a helpful pitch for the quicker bowlers, where conditions at times looked extreme, India picked their two wickets in front of the square. One of them was by Ravichandran Ashwin. It truly summed up the day for them.
Kaushik Rangarajan wrote about a rare off day for Jasprit Bumrah and how that meant India were left chasing the game. Rob Johnston focused on New Zealand's subtle ways and how they did the basics right.
Currently in Southampton
10.10 am local - Building up
They are here for us once again. It's raining in Southampton and the the weather forecast for the rest of the day is something you'd like to avoid. It's frustrating, I know, but there's only so much we can do about it except wait and wonder just why we can't play cricket in the rain. We'll try to keep this space fun and entertaining while we pray the bad weather away.
I am not sad.
