Bravo will play his last game against Australia on Saturday
Dwayne Bravo has confirmed that he will retire from international cricket at the end of the ongoing T20 WC. The West Indies all-rounder had earlier announced retirement in 2018 before reversing the decision in 2019.
Earlier in the year, during their home series against Pakistan, skipper Kieron Pollard had said that Bravo was playing his last T20I game in the Caribbean. Bravo has now confirmed this decision on an ICC show.
“I think the time has come. I've had a very good career. To represent the West Indies for 18 years, had some ups and downs, but as I look back at it I'm very grateful to represent the region and the Caribbean people for so long,” said Bravo.
“One thing I am proud about is that the era of cricketers we had we were able to make a name for ourselves on the global stage and not only do that but have silverware to show for it,” he added.
Bravo was part of both the T20 WC-winning squads for West Indies in 2012 and 2016. His last outing is set to be against Australia on Saturday, November 6. He has so far played a total of 90 T20Is for West Indies scoring 1245 runs and picking up 78 wickets.
