CSK are placed second behind Delhi Capitals.
That's that! PBKS beat CSK by 6 wickets! They're still alive in the tournament with that win…It was brilliant knock from KL Rahul. Shame he couldn't get a century – it was really well-deserved. He smashed an unbeaten 98 from 42 balls which powered the Kings past the winning line in 13 overs for a six-wicket win. The problem though, is for Chennai Super Kings, who have now slipped to their third successive loss after sealing their spot in the play-offs. They had made a brilliant start to the UAE leg with four wins on the trot, but since, have lost three in a row leading into the business end.
Can they bounce back? They've finished their league stage with 18 points, while a big win for PBKS has them pip MI to 5th spot. However, MI still have one game to go. DC will finish at the top of the table. However, PBKS are still in the tournament with that win, tied with KKR and MI on 12 points. The next match coming up is KKR vs RR, which should clear up their standing in the tournament.
Stay tuned for KKRr vs RR coming up in a bit.
Markram falls! CSK pick up their fourth but they have no chance of winning this one. Markram falls to Thakur for 13 but PBKS need just 9 off 47.
10 overs done – PBKS 92 for 3
OUT!!Shahrukh holes out to Bravo in the deep. Looking to clear the field once again, he falls to Chahar as PBKS lose their third.
FIFTY for KL RAHUL!It's been a superb knock from the Punjab skipper. He attacked from the onset and has raced away to his half-century off just 25 balls.
50 up for PBKS
Oh, make that two in the over!!Sarfraz Khan falls for a three-ball duck as he's caught at mid off by du Plessis. From a strong start, PBKS are suddenly 2 down! Back to back ducks for Sarfraz.
OUT! Just as I say that, Mayank is given out LBW!Thakur strikes off his third ball. Mayank walked across and looked to flick this into the fine leg but was rapped on the pads. They could've gone for the review, but didn't choose to. The opening stand of 46 is broken.
PBKS off to a good start
Faf's little counterattack in the last few overs gives CSK 134.There was a period of lull in the middle overs with the runs drying up, but Faf let loose and accelerated towards the end of the innings. He fell in the final over for a 55-ball 76 but not before giving his side a fighting total. After 16 overs, CSK were 86, but the last four overs were good for them.
A change of pace and Faf slaps it right back to Arshdeep. He almost pulls off a great catch but can't hold on.
It's the googly against MSD and it's the end of him.Gets an inside edge onto the stumps as Ravi Bishnoi has his first. CSK- 61/5.
50 up for CSK

The CricViz Analyst @cricvizanalyst A steady start for Chennai, which is in keeping with their tournament as a whole. Their Powerplay run rate has been 7.33, the second lowest in #IPL2021, ahead of only Punjab Kings (6.97). #CSKvPBKS 10:26 AM • Oct 10, 2021
OUT!!Gaikwad miscues a short ball from Arshdeep. Couldn't get under it in time to pull it for a boundary. CSK have made a slow start – 18/1 in the fourth over.

Two losses in a row after sealing a spot in the playoffs are how CSK are coming into this game against Punjab Kings. They won four on four since the UAE leg kickstarted, but have since have slipped against both Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals. Hello, and welcome to the final league games for both these sides. CSK will be seeking to carry some winning momentum into the play-offs, while PBKS are just about trying to stay relevant. They're not out entirely, mathematically, but will need more than just a win in this game (and a miracle) to make it through.
Somehow, funnily, since IPL 2015, in every season that CSK has played, they have faced Punjab in their last league game. They've overcome them most times too, barring once in 2019. Can that change today? Toss, Pitch report and teams… all that and more in a bit. Stay with us.
ICYMI: CSK signed Dominic Drakes, the Barbadian seamer, as an injury replacement for Sam Curran. The English all-rounder was ruled out with a lower-back injury.
