Bangadesh reach Oman after delay due to cyclone
Bangladesh team left for Oman on Sunday, October 3 after a day-long drama as their flight became uncertain after all flights arriving and departing at Muscat International Airport were cancelled and rescheduled due to Cyclone Shaheen.
Later in the day, some flights were resumed that paved the way for Bangladesh's week-long preparation camp in Oman ahead of the global meet. Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman, who are currently in the UAE for the ongoing IPL, will join the Bangladesh contingent later.
Bangladesh decided to skip their lone practice game in Oman in order to remain protected during their six-day mandatory bio-bubble, a prerequisite for the upcoming T20 WC.

Jayawardane appointed SL team consultant for first round of T20 WC
Mahela Jayawardene has been appointed as Sri Lanka's men's team consultant for the first round of the T20 WC, starting on October 17. Sri Lanka are part of the first round where they are grouped with the Netherlands, Ireland and Namibia – two out of who will qualify for the Super 12s. Jayawardene, who is already in UAE as the head coach of Mumbai Indians, will join the Sri Lankan team via a bubble-to-bubble transfer immediately after the IPL, which concludes on October 14. Sri Lanka will have his services for a seven-day period between October 16 and 23.

Kohli to step down as T20I captain after T20 WC
Virat Kohli will step down as India's T20I captain after the T20 WC. Kohli said he arrived at the decision in order to better manage his captaincy workload in the Test and ODI format, having discussed the matter with coach Ravi Shastri and vice captain Rohit Sharma.

Hayden, Philander to join Pakistan's coaching staff for T20 WC
Former Australian batsman Matthew Hayden and South African seam bowler Vernon Philander have been roped in by the Pakistan Cricket Board to serve as consultant coaches for the upcoming T20 WC. The announcement was made by newly-appointed PCB chairman Ramiz Raja. Hayden and Philander will temporarily fill the void in the coaching staff caused by departures of Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis.

Duminy, Sammons to serve as specialist consultants for SA
Former South Africa all-rounder JP Duminy is one half of a pair of specialist consultants appointed by Cricket South Africa to work with the team at the forthcoming T20 WC to be played in the UAE and Oman. Duminy, batting coach with the Lions, will be joined by Justin Sammons with the pair taking on the roles on a temporary basis to fill in the vacancy created by the resignation of assistant coach Enoch Nkwe.

Jonathan Trott to assist Scotland in T20 WC
Scotland have roped in former England batsman Jonathan Trott as ‘Batting Lead' for the upcoming T20 WC. He will be assisting the squad, led by Kyle Coetzer, for the tournament in UAE. Additionally, Scotland have also roped in a ‘Wellbeing Manager' in Louise Finlayson.

Dhoni to mentor India during T20 WC
Former captain MS Dhoni will also be with the Indian team as a mentor for the T20 WC, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said while announcing the squad. “As far as MS is concerned, I spoke to him when I was in Dubai. He agreed to be a mentor for T20 WC only. I also discussed the issue with my colleagues and they are all on the same page. I spoke to captain and vice-captain and as well as Ravi Shastri and they are all on the same page,” Shah said.
