Cricket is a great leveller and who better than Hasan Ali to be able to stand for it? A dropped chance against Australia a fortnight ago made him a villain, but he turned it around for Pakistan with a lot of pomp in Chattogram on Saturday (November 27). Hasan's five-wicket haul helped Pakistan wrestle back control as hosts Bangladesh were bowled out for 330, adding just 77 runs in the morning session on Day 2.
Bangladesh were pegged back early after losing centurion Liton Das for 114, with Hasan proving to be his nemesis. The new man Yasir Ali also didn't last long as Hasan struck again soon after. The onus now was completely on the shoulders of Mushfiqur Rahim, the other overnight unbeaten batsman, but he missed out on a deserving ton as Faheem Ashraf induced an edge with him on 91.
Post that, the tail did wag a little with Mehidy Hasan playing a few shots but the fun didn't last long as Hasan returned to pick up the last two wickets with Mehidy unbeaten on 38 after a handy cameo. Hasan returned with 5 for 51 to help Pakistan make a superb comeback, especially after Bangladesh's counterattack on the opening day. Pakistan would've been the happier lot taking the advantage at Lunch, not letting Bangladesh get away with a total out of their reach.
Brief Scores: Bangladesh 330 (Liton Das 114, Mushfiqur Rahim 91; Hasan Ali 5-51) vs Pakistan.
