Shimane Alfred Mothoa born in Transvaal made his first-class debut about half-a-decade ago for the Northerns. The fast-arm pacer was 23 when he made his debut in the CSA Provincial Three-Day Competition in East London. Coming in to bat at number 11 on his debut, Mothoa was the top scorer for the Northers in that match and was the only batsman to hit a six in the first innings. That still remains to be his highest score in first-class cricket but his bowling has improved vastly over the period of time.
