A sharp, efficient wicketkeeper who can play unorthodox strokes with the bat, Baxter Holt was the gloveman of the U19 side during the 2018 World Cup. Spunky and bubbly by nature, it was a one-on-one training session with Alyssa Healy that spurred Holt to take up wicketkeeping. The incident happened when he was barely 14 years old and he had made the arrangements through a family friend who knew the Healys quite well. A star right from the school cricket, Holt did have his share of hindrances along the way but his mental strength allowed him to prosper.Being mentored by two high profile coaches in Ryan Harris and Chris Rogers has certainly helped Holt hone his skills in recent times.

A BBL contract with the Sydney Thunder for 2018-19 was the ideal push that he was looking for, even if his role was limited to being a standby. Holt is a clean striker of the ball but at the same time, quite good at manipulating the field as well. Behind the stumps, he is quite able against both pace and spin, making him a handy package to have. In red-ball cricket, he bats in the lower middle order while he loved opening in the shorter forms. Holt made his BBL debut against the Renegades in a game where he ended top scoring but his side couldn't get across the line. If groomed well, he is definitely one for the future.
