Sunny Sohal is an explosive batsman hailing from the Indian state of Punjab who went about finding a spot in the domestic cricket scene of India, even earning himself an IPL contract in the earlier seasons with Deccan Chargers, Kings XI Punjab, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, before realizing that age was catching up and that he needed to move out of the country to play at the highest level. After a few decent outings with the bat in the IPL, which kept him going for a few seasons, the short-statured Sohal emigrated to the United States of America to play cricket.
Sohal started playing leagues around the States, where he earned a name for himself as a fearsome hitter of the cricket ball. He then went on to play the Washington Cricket League where he is a regular playing member. His technique rather home-made but compact, and he has a gift for timing, combined with natural forearm power which has established him as a pinch-hitter, usually at the top of the order, where he can quickly shift the momentum towards the batting side by pelting the hard new ball to all parts of the ground.
After some rule-bending by the ICC, Sohal was an easy addition to the USA national team, but missed out on the World Cup qualifiers due to injury. However, at the ripe age of 30, Sunny Sohal could go on to represent his adopted nation at the sport and perhaps establish himself on the international stage in a different way than he'd have imagined in his younger years.
