Brook will make his BBL debut with Hobart Hurricanes.
One of the brightest batting talents in England, Harry Brook, has been signed up by Hobart Hurricanes for the upcoming season of the Big Bash League. Brook, who will be making his maiden appearance in the high-profile T20 tournament, will be available for all the matches.
A former Under-19 England captain, Brooke recently hit headlines for winning the Men's Young Player of the Year Award by the Professional Cricket's Association. He had hit 486 runs for Yorkshire in the T20 Blast at an average of 69.40 and a strike rate of 149.07. That strike rate went up to 153.65 in the inaugural edition of The Hundred where he played for the Northern Superchargers.
“I can't wait to come out to Australia and play in the Big Bash for the first time,” Brook said. “Over the years I've really enjoyed watching English cricketers like myself come out to Australia, and it seems that not only have they really enjoyed their time playing in the BBL, but a lot of them have also taken their game to the next level. I'm really hoping that I can do the same, so I just can't wait to get there, get stuck in and learn as much as I can.”
Brook's signing will further strengthen the Hurricanes middle order that already has Peter Handscomb and Tim David in its ranks. Hurricanes have also retained Sandeep Lamichhane's services for the upcoming season. They open their campaign on December 8 against defending champions Sydney Sixers.
